Went out with Pete and Erik (Lurker from Tidalfish) to go see if we could catch some sharks/cobia on fly. Headed north to the outside of the mouth of the bay, should have turned around when the water temps went from 72 to 65, but I was curious to see if they would still show. Rode the bag for about 1.5 hours, nada. So then we decided to run south to the NC bouys, set up on a bouy and they started to show. Wasn't stellar action, but it was still alot of fun sight casting to 3 to 6 foot sharks for about 4 hours. Definitely seems like when the current started to slow the action got better. Erik hasn't done alot of saltwater fly fishing and after seeing my first battle with a 4 footer, he decided to give it a try. He did hook up and needless to say we might have a convert, I going to pull him over to the dark side slowly but surely. After some pullage, we headed into Lynnhaven for some fuel for the boat and crabcake sammies and beers for us at Bubba's. Overall a great day out on the water and no scars to show for it. Thanks Pete, as always it was fun.
