HRBT - 06/21/2007

Started the evening at Fort Wool around 7:45 on the outgoing tide. Fished the rocks and caught between 20 - 25 stripers on chartruese 2/0 dahlberg divers. Watching them come out of the rocks and strike the fly never gets old. Even had a few that decided they wanted to put on an ariel show.  Once it was dark we switched over to the light line, but the current went slack. We started working the line in the slack tide and to our suprise the fish were there but not stacked up. They were just milling around moving right to left. Picked up a couple here and there, around 10:00 the incoming current started to move a little better and the switch was turned on. There were probably 50 fish below every light. Needless to say may hands are pretty sore today and I could sand the varnish off of a coffee table my thumbs are so ruff. Didn't get any pigs, but caught them up to about 25".   About 12:45 we called it a night and pretty much left them biting.
